Tucker came to us so emaciated it was a wonder he could even walk.  He still wagged that nub of his though and did a great kidney bean wiggle.  He was diagnosed with severe colitis and we did everything possible to control it.  He was doing so much better and was adopted by a great family.  He was with them for a year and I received a call from his dad telling me that he had taken a turn for the worse in recent months and was going downhill.  He wanted my permission to ease his pain and send him to the bridge.  I was stunned and speechless for a moment.  After going over the recent treatment with him I realized it was the only thing to do so he left this world that afternoon.  I grieve for his family and for what could have been a full happy life. My only consolation is that he was very much loved by his family and that he had such a good life with them.  I am sure he is there at the bridge running and playing with Bully and my Remi right now.

Riki was with us only a short time before a family came along and had to have him.  Everything was going great and he loved his mom and dad and especially his children.  Then one day when he saw a cat across the street and the door opened out he went, across the street into the path of a car.  No contest the car won.  His family was devastated and felt so guilty, but accidents do happen, sometimes no matter how careful we are.  Poor little Riki had come from a very bad place only to be taken before his time.  He is at the bridge waiting with all of the rest.  Have patience little boy we will soon meet again.
